Using Dynamic Attachment Reprocessing Experiencing (DARe), Somatic Experiencing, and Polyvagal Theory models as a framework, we will learn about childhood developmental trauma and CPTSD and how it can result in caregiver attachment wounds (“mommy issues”/”daddy issues”) that continue into adulthood as insecure attachment patterns resulting in damaged relationships, career, and ultimately mental health and quality of life. Participants will be led through various somatic and guided visualization exercises to explore, process, and renegotiate how attachment traumas have impacted relationships to self, others, and the world. Participants will leave with a greater sense and depth of self in relation to others, have tools to continue to heal from past wounds, and be able to employ effective interpersonal communication skills to meet attachment needs effectively.

Nurturing Resilience Book Group for Healing Professionals

This group is for healing professionals (mental health professionals, medical/alternative medicine providers, bodyworkers, etc). Using the text “Nurturing Resilience” by Kathy Kain and Stephen Terrell, we will explore together how developmental/attachment trauma challenges our innate resiliency and how a somatic approach can help us build and reclaim it. We will explore neuroception, regulation, dis/connectedness, and mis/attunement and how these apply to their own lives in order to support the “wounded healer” before supporting our clients/patients. “Synthesizing across disciplines – Attachment, Polyvagal, Neuroscience, Child Development Theory, Trauma, and Somatics – this book provides a new lens through which to understand safety and regulation.” More on the book.
